This thesis, titled "Enhancing B2B Communication in SAP Ecosystem: A Model Framework for Reliable EDI Processing," addresses the challenge of improving business-to-business (B2B) communication within the SAP environment through the development of custom integration solutions.
The primary problem addressed is the need to enhance Custom iFlow for TPM Standard Package iFlows within the SAP Integration Suite to enable seamless processing of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages and ensure reliable B2B communication. This involves designing and implementing custom iFlows to support the generation and transmission of functional acknowledgments between the custom iFlow and the SAP S/4HANA system via IDoc status messages. Additionally, the integration of TPM agreements, Master Integration Guide (MIG), and Master Agreement Guide (MAG) objects within the Integration Advisor aims to streamline the agreement creation process and ensure compatibility with SAP S/4HANA and EDI partners.
The secondary objective involves designing custom mapping solutions within the SAP Integration Suite's TPM framework to facilitate seamless data transformation and mapping between SAP IDoc structures and EDI formats (e.g., X12, EDIFACT). This includes creating graphical mappings, implementing XSLT logic, and designing hierarchical segment generation to enhance the mapping process and ensure compliance with EDI standards.
The primary methods employed include the creation of custom iFlows in the SAP Integration Suite to link standard package iFlows for EDI processing and the implementation of custom iFlows to execute mapping logic for preparing Standard Output Interface Protocol (SOIP) messages.
The major results of this thesis include the successful integration of functional acknowledgments into the SAP S/4HANA system without disrupting the functionalities of TPM V2, as well as the achievement of the required SOIP format for standard shipment messages to EDI systems.
In conclusion, this thesis provides critical enhancements to the B2B communication process between SAP and EDI systems, meeting the expectations of SAP users and facilitating smoother business operations.
